Factory Reset - Polycom Phones

Performing a factory reset on a Polycom phone restores the device to its original settings, which can help resolve configuration issues or prepare the phone for a new user or location. This article explains when and how to safely reset supported Polycom models to their factory defaults and what to expect after the reset completes. Use these steps to troubleshoot persistent issues or clear old settings so your Polycom phone can reconnect cleanly to the PetDesk Phones system.

 

If your phone is already programmed with PetDesk Phones, follow these instructions:

  1. Press the Menu or Home button.
  2. Select Settings > Advanced. The default admin password is admin123. If this does not work, enter the MAC address located on the back of the device
  3. Select Administration Settings
  4. Select Reset to Defaults
  5. Select Reset to Factory
  6. Select Yes to confirm

 

How do I factory reset my Polycom Phone?

Applies to Polycom model VVX 101, 201, 300, 301, 311, 400 (shown below), 401, 410, 411, 500, 501, 600, and 601 Phones:

  1. Press and hold the 1, 3, and 0 keys simultaneously to force the phone to reboot.
  2. When the Starting Application dialog appears, press Cancel.
    • The Welcome dialog will count down from 7. 
  3. During the Welcome dialog countdown, press and hold the 1, 3, and 5 keys simultaneously to summon the password prompt.

  4. Enter the MAC address of the phone using lower-case characters.

    • For letters, select the a->1A mode and press the key the number of times the letter requires. (For example, the letter “f” must be pressed three times.)
    • To backspace, press the left arrow key.
    • Once entered, the Polycom phone will have been reset. The new default password is 456.

     

Applies to Polycom model IP 320,  321, 330 (shown below), 331, 335, 430, 450, 560, and 7000 Phones:

  1. Press and hold the 1, 3, 5, and 7 keys
  2. Enter the admin password to proceed with the factory reset
    • The password is 456 by default

 

Applies to Polycom models IP 4000, 5000 (shown below), and 6000 Phones:

  1. Press and hold the 6, 8, and * keys
  2. Enter the admin password to proceed with the factory reset
    • The password is 456 by default
