Several factors influence whether an incoming call receives a label of "Spam Likely" or "Spam Risk. "Many of these elements are governed by regulatory agencies rather than directly by PetDesk Phones.
Customers Still Switching to PetDesk Phones
If you are still in the process of switching your phone services to Phones' Integration and your phone numbers have NOT been ported to our network yet, your phone numbers may show up as Spam. This only occurs when you dial out of your PetDesk phones.
This is due to the FCC's (Federal Communications Commission) new STIR/SHAKEN regulations regarding "Spoofing" that became effective in June 2021. "Spoofing" is a term that refers to the act of displaying a specific phone number when making an outbound call through a carrier that does not currently control that same phone number.
Fortunately, this issue will be resolved once your numbers are officially ported to PetDesk.
Customers With Numbers Ported To PetDesk Phones
If your phone numbers have already been ported to Phones' Integration, then it's possible someone, somewhere, has reported your phone number as Spam. Unfortunately, PetDesk Phones cannot directly remove phone numbers from the spam list. You can report your number as legitimate by filling out the online forms below or emailing specific spam report providers listed.
