This quick start guide shows how to set up the Grandstream HT812 analog telephone adapter (ATA) with your PetDesk Phones system so you can connect traditional desk phones or fax devices to your VoIP service. In the steps below, you’ll find hardware installation, basic configuration, and tips for confirming a successful connection. Use this guide when you’re installing an HT812 for the first time or replacing an adapter to ensure your devices work smoothly with PetDesk Phones.
Setting up a Grandstream HT812-V2 ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor)
- Connect the power cord to the port labeled “DC 12V”.
- Connect an internet source to the ethernet port with the “Globe” Icon.
- Connect an analog phone line from the fax machine directly to either Line 1 or Line 2.
WARNING: Do not connect an analog phone line from a wall phone jack to either Line 1 or Line 2, as doing so could damage the device.
Booting Up
When the device first starts up, the power icon will flash. Once booted, the power icon will stay solid.
Internet Connection
A solid internet connection is indicated by Globe icon, which should remain solid and blink occasionally.
Off-Hook
Line 1/Line 2 will flash during an Incoming and outgoing fax. If Line 1/Line 2 blinks continuously without stopping, there may be a problem with the ATA.
Pass-Through Port
The Pass-Through Port, indicated by the network tree icon, allows an internet connection to be shared with another device when there are not enough Ethernet ports to go around.
